queer friendship project

Logline
This short film celebrates queer friendship as a source of joy and support, set against Berlin’s vibrant queer scene. Based on real stories, it follows a diverse friend group in their 20s, offering snapshots of their lives and connections within the city.
Idea
In this short film project we want to showcase the importance and explore the nature of queer friendship. To us, queerness is something that transcends borders and generations, while friendship can be a lifeline for many queer people. While we don’t want to portray a utopia, it’s very important to us for this project to focus on queer joy. The film will be about 20 minutes long and based on real experiences of queer people in Berlin.
As an international hub with a variety of queer spaces and communities, Berlin itself should play an important role in the film. The plot will revolve around a friend group of 5 characters between the age of 20-30, who come from different backgrounds. While navigating their lives, they found comfort in each other and this city.  The film will explore the dynamics between each character and the whole group and should function as a snapshots of the character’s lives.
State of the project
At the moment we are finishing up the screenplay and working in teams on the pre-production. Soon the casting call will be published. We will be filming in May/June.
